Facing the Fog – A Poem for Mental Health

Cotton wool head
Fuzzy, heavy haze
Brain frozen in time
I'm waiting and hoping
For the fog to thaw and clear

Racing, chasing thoughts
That rush through my mind
Frantic and sometimes fearful
Screwing me down to the ground
Pinning me to the canvass
Punch drunk
Knocked out
Polaxed

Tunnel vision
I can't see
I don't know
A way out of this place
But weather patterns change

So I wait
And I hope
For the fog
To clear
