The Final Letting Go

Walking through this world
We occasionally stumble upon death
A sudden unwanted companion
Who appears unexpectedly

I had convinced myself
That death should have no place
Avoiding the spectre
Too much to live with

But live with death we must
The common denominator
The inescapable final call
We can push it away and pretend
Laugh it off
Dancing away with a quick step

But in Christ the final call is coming
It’s the final letting go
Of all reputation, possessions
Power and control

We let go of everything and arrive on the other side
Finding ourselves in the Everlasting Arms of eternal love

RIP Tim
